Banana Blanching Rooms
Banana, one of the most produced fruits in the world, is completely green and physiologically immature when harvested. Bananas, which have a short storage life of 6-7 weeks on average under the right conditions, go through two basic processes before being put on the market: yellowing (bringing only the skin color to the ideal yellow tone) and ripening (reaching the fruit to the desired aroma, taste, texture and quality).
Specially designed ripening rooms are needed to carry out these processes in a controlled manner. Bananas to be marketed are kept in these rooms at specified temperature, relative humidity, gas concentration and ethylene levels for 3 to 8 days. At the same time, it is subjected to a special air circulation regulated according to the physiological needs of the fruit. In order for the process to be completed successfully, all these parameters must be managed both in a correctly designed room and with highly sensitive control systems.
Frigocare Refrigeration has developed comprehensive expertise in banana ripening and ripening processes, thanks to its years of industrial refrigeration experience and technical studies in the field of food storage. In line with this knowledge, it offers ripening room solutions that provide high efficiency and comply with customer expectations and product quality standards.
Freezing Chamber
Freezing is the most critical pre-cooling process applied to make foods suitable for long-term frozen preservation. While the product is still in its freshest state, it is frozen to its core in a short time with a very strong cold air current (around -35 to -40 °C). Thanks to this rapid freezing, the cell structure is preserved, and when thawed, the product largely preserves its freshness, texture and nutritional value.
While the use of freezing red meat, fish, chicken, bakery products, vegetables and fruits is increasing every year, it is seen that fast freezing technology is preferred in new sectors. For long-term, safe and hygienic preservation, the freezing process has become indispensable in many product groups. However, each food has different parameters such as freezing temperature, air speed, time and product placement.
Frigocare Refrigeration develops freezing solutions suitable for a wide range of products, with its expertise in food processing and storage and the technical content it prepares.
In order for a freezing room to operate successfully
- Selecting the right capacity and right type of machine according to the characteristics of the product to be frozen,
- Including the external environmental conditions in the project calculation,
- Equal and effective distribution of air flow in the room,
- Using high quality panel and door systems to prevent heat loss,
- Implementation of energy-saving working algorithms
Factors such as these should be evaluated together.
Frigocare Cooling, which offers advanced technology solutions in the field of industrial cooling, provides high efficiency and reliability to its users by maximizing product and application compatibility in freezing rooms.
Atmosphere Controlled Cold Weather Facility
Atmosphere-controlled cold storages are high-tech storage areas where the composition of the indoor air is specially regulated. In these systems, the oxygen level is reduced in a controlled manner, while the carbon dioxide rate is kept at determined levels. Thus, the aging process of fruits and vegetables is slowed down, the respiratory rate is reduced and the development of diseases or microorganisms is greatly reduced. It is also prevented. This method, applied without the use of chemicals, can extend the storage life of the product up to two times compared to standard storage.
Increasing quality expectations in fresh fruit and vegetable consumption around the world and the importance of product availability at the same standard throughout the year have led to the rapid spread of atmosphere-controlled warehouses.
Frigocare Refrigeration has a structure that can produce all critical components, including doors, for atmosphere-controlled cold stores. It offers these systems, which are seen as the solution of the future in fresh fruit and vegetable storage, on a turnkey basis, together with highly insulated panels, ultrasonic humidification devices, sensitive humidity sensors and other auxiliary equipment.
Atmosphere-controlled warehouses, which increase the storage time by 2-3 times for many products such as apples, pomegranates, grapes, pears and kiwis, enable producers to offer their products to the market at the most affordable price level. This both preserves quality and allows the producer to utilize his labor more efficiently.
Gelişmiş ülkelerde elma gibi bazı ürünlerin uluslararası pazarlarda yüksek fiyatlarla satılmasının temel sebebi üretimden çok doğru depolama stratejisidir. Thanks to atmosphere-controlled cold storage, the product maintains the freshness of the day it was harvested for months. On the other hand, many producers are forced to sell their products at low prices due to quality losses resulting from traditional storage methods, and in some cases, the product cannot even reach the market.
Atmosphere-controlled storage eliminates these losses, ensuring the preservation of high quality product for a long time and significantly increasing the competitiveness of the producer.

IQF
The “IQF” (Individual Quick Freezing) technique is one of the most effective methods used today to preserve food safely and healthily for a long time. Freezing the products one by one, in a short time and by passing them through special tunnels with high air speed, ensures that the natural texture, color and nutritional value of the food is preserved. This method completely eliminates problems such as sticking and deformation that occur in bulk freezing.
Frigocare Refrigeration has expertise in designing the most suitable IQF tunnel solutions according to the structure and process needs of different food types. Thanks to the ultra-low temperature air flow and optimized air direction technique used in IQF tunnels, products are frozen quickly, homogeneously and harmlessly.
Frigocare Refrigeration develops and implements user-specific optimum IQF systems so that frozen foods can maintain their first day's freshness when thawed, do not lose their nutritional value and maintain a high quality standard.
Freeze Dry Systems
Freeze drying is one of the most advanced storage methods that allows foods to preserve their nutritional value, aroma and structure for many years. In this method, the water in the product is first frozen and turned into a solid. It is then allowed to pass directly to the vapor phase under vacuum. Thus, food is preserved without the use of chemicals, without the risk of spoilage, and with microbial activity at a minimum level.
In industrial freeze dry facilities, the process works as follows:
1. Fast Freezing: Foods are frozen to around -40 °C in a very short time with powerful cooling systems.
2. Frozen Storage: Products are kept in frozen warehouses for a while to maintain structural stability.
3. Sublimation Stage: Frozen foods are taken to the freeze dry machine; Controlled heat is applied under vacuum. The ice inside the product is removed from the environment by evaporating directly before it passes into the liquid phase.
4. Packaging: At the end of this process, which can last between 16 and 21 hours, the food becomes lighter, becomes long-lasting and gains durability for years with oxygen barrier packaging.
Thanks to this method, many foods such as fruits, vegetables, red meat, fish, chicken, dairy products and bakery products can be stored for a long time, preserving their nutritional value and aromatic properties on the first day.
Frigocare Refrigeration designs freeze dry systems suitable for different capacities and product groups, thanks to its structure that rapidly implements developing food technologies and the knowledge it has acquired in industrial refrigeration. It offers the most advanced applications of the industry by developing special freeze dry solutions that center on user needs, energy efficiency and product quality.
Hydrocooler
One of the most critical post-harvest stages in many vegetables, fruits and seafood is rapid pre-cooling. Hydrocooler units used for this purpose are an extremely effective pre-cooling method that provides direct contact with cold water to reduce the surface and internal temperature of the product in a short time. With this technique, the product temperature is reduced to 2–4 °C in a very short time and the shelf life is significantly extended. At the same time, negative effects such as spoilage, staleness, loss of aroma and wastage are largely prevented.
Very successful results are achieved with hydrocooler applications throughout the world, especially in cherries, apples, sweet corn and shellfish. Thanks to the rapid temperature drop, the product can be stored more healthily and presented to the market with higher quality.
Frigocare Refrigeration does not only produce technology for preserving foods with correct cooling methods; It also undertakes to raise awareness in the sector with the technical publications and training content it prepares. In this regard, it develops the most suitable pre-cooling solutions by analyzing in detail the characteristics of the product to be stored and user expectations.
Thanks to hydrocooler units specially designed for each project, Frigocare Cooling offers integrated solutions to all stages of the cooling process, especially for sensitive products, and contributes to minimizing post-harvest losses.
